Madonna: Like a virgin.

On saturday I bought a Nintendo Wii. It was a big impulse, I have never thought about that at all, but suddenly it felt very naturally to have one. So now I am trying not to play during day/office-time, but in the evenings I am hooked, trying to solve Super Paper Mario.

New Shop in New York

Jil Sander recently opened a new store in New York on Howard Street (just by Opening Ceremony) and I guess that is just another excuse to post some pictures from the "above-this-world" 08 summer/spring collection. It is purely fantastic! I love the minimalistic 90s look, and every piece looks like candy (expensive candy that is). I think this is clothes you would wear for decades.

When I was in Oslo in may I got this silk-blouse at Fretex on Grünerløkka. I liked it instantly even though the color is not one of my favourites, but there was just something to it, and the colour turned out to have the right look in a fresh and sober way.
The blouse has a Dries Van Noten feeling, and when I was browsing internet I found that it had a certain Jil Sander feel to it as well.
I also got this black chiffon-dress here in Bergen at Fretex a couple of weeks ago. I think it has some of the same feeling as the silk blouse, but in a different way. I have not used it yet, but I will soon. I just need to figure out how to since it has see-trough material.

So I went to the cinema today for the first time in 1,5 year! ( I prefer to watch movies, series etc. at home). The occation was of course the Sex And The City-movie.

I have noticed this UK-brand, Ground Zero, several times lately. I like it because it has this streety feel, but looks sober and modern with colourful details and nice shapes. The brand is quite new and was established in 2003 by the brothers Eri and Philipa Chu. London is their muse.

Jeremy Scott is so out there, and do not mind posing on these pictures taken by Cory Kennedy. I actually had a similar leather caps when I was like 9-10 years old and very inspired by Madonna in Who´s that girl. The last couple of years I have been searching my childhood home for the leather caps, but it seems to have disappear. It was last seen on my littlebrother ten years ago.
I think Madonnas look from Who´s that girl may have inspired other than me lately. Leather jacket, feminine dresses and net stockings: it has been everywhere the last couple of seasons.

Pudel is a scandinavian brand based in London. I like it! And I especially like this denim vest, that I think will add a little extra to most outfits (at least the ones I tend to wear).

CUSTOMIZING JEANS & LEGGINGS

A month ago, due to my obsession with the ripped up jeans from Maison Martin Margiela, I made these holes on a leggings of mine. The result turned out good, and it is a good way to transform an item you may be a bit bored with.
Last night I decided to make my version of the MMM-jeans, so I cutted up my old Cheap Monday jeans and I think it went very well.
I can not wait to use the jeans, and I think it will be great when it gets a bit warmer outside and a regular jeans is too warm.
Now I just need to stitch the shoulderpads that I bought on october on a black tee, and I will have a complete fake Maison Martin Margiela outfit. I like!

Forget the Topshop-dress. This is the best dress I have seen in a long time. It is from Acne, and the picture do not justify how nice it is irl. This can be worn in so many way: over a grey melange tee, with a short jacket of any kind, over net stockings, over jeans, with sneakers, or sandals or whatever. Everything goes!

I am slowly posting out my New York pics, and today I wanted to share the Maison Martin Margiela store with you. Some of my old readers may remember the extreme low fi entrance at the Maison Martin Margiela store in Tokyo?

It seems that low fi are one important part of the stores, also in New York. Due to jetlag we first arrived before the store (and everything else was opened), but later on we got to see the store that featured both the Maison- and MM6-collections. Actually there where two stores, one for boys and one for girls. And with the kindest and nicest staff in all of New York. Unfortunately they did not have the ripped up jeans that I wanted, so no MMM-shopping for me.

The store is located on 803 Greenwich Street in West Village.

Spring has arrived in Bergen, and they say it is gonna last some days. Love these looks from the fall 2004 Prada collection. The knit sweaters looks so good and comfy and I like the contrast between the materials.
This would be perfect to wear in Bergens weather nowadays, cause it is not all that hot in the shadow, but you can still leave your jacket at home.

Back from New York, it feels like I have been away almost for ever. Is it only me or do you also feel that time goes slowly when away from your everyday life? I guess that is what a holiday should do, speed things down a bit.

Yesterday I ordered a Mac Pro since my old powerbook seems to be in eternal sleep modus. I do not think I will have it before my trip to New York, but it does not matter since I am travelling without my laptop (for once).

I think these shoes from Chloé is so nice. Very modern looking and innovative. I actually like Chloé a lot better after Paulo Melim Andersson took over, even though I know many will disagree with me. I like his simple and minimalism design that has a egde to it. It looks very new and modern.

That is right. Yesterday my powerbook stopped breathing and still no sign of life. That means that lots of stuff I have written, photographed and done the last couple of years is gone atm (no backup of course). This has given me loads of extrawork yesterday and today and some anxiety I must admit.

I was a huge Boy George and Culture Club fan when I was little, and my brother was even a bigger fan. When home last week we saw some live stuff from Culture Club and Boy George is so inspirational. So we suddenly decided to drive to my birthplace Ulsteinvik yesterday (most norwegians have one week easter holiday), and now we are here. Lots of snow here, I brought mostly spring/summer clothes but happily we have a car so we do not have to walk around too much.

Miu Miu goes sporty. First look me not like, fifth time I looked through the pictures me like. I like seeing something new and allthough it looks kind of unwearable atm, I think this might change in a while. When autumn comes, I will be ready!

Allthough this collection may be a bit mature for me, I think it has a good balance between a everyday versus updressed look. I like the layer patterns, the shoes and the volumnious but shorts tops with the narrow pants/tights. Maybe it is time to grow up?

I am planning on getting these shoes from Acne. They are amazing with a wedge heels, suits me well since I am the worst to walk in both high and low heels. The coat is nice as well. I like!

OMG! I just love this collection! So simple and so genious. I love the shapes and how the jersey drapes around the body. I think this is one of the best aw-collections so far, mostly because it is so down to earth, but with advanced techniques, and shoes are amazing.

I really love the bodysuits, the monocrome look, the different patterns in layers and the diagonally silk capes. Not so sure about the supersized necks, but I guess these are more for the show, allthough it does send a clear message about the proportions. I like!

One hundred pairs of the jeans with the red stitching was made when Acne first started making clothes, and the rest is scandinavian jeans history.

I am in Oslo, celebrating my friends birthdays. Picture from the train ride from Bergen to Oslo, nice trip, but not much eyesight in the snowstorm. Nice travelling by train, I can recommend it.

I say it again. Jil Sander (and Raf Simons) makes me want to be a minimalist. Especially loving the jackets and the dresses. Of course I would mix it with something more streety, if I ever was able to invest in a garment like this (not in this life though).

I think about Dries Van Notens spring collection constantly. It is so brilliant!
If you want a one-piece for spring, my best bet is on a flower top, sweater or dress from Dries. I am already planning to look for my Dries-piece in New York.
