It seems like I am not the only one who wants to fake the Margiela-look this summer. Take a look a look at this one from Topshop. Actually when you look at them so close to each other, the one from Maison Martin Margiela is sooooo much nicer, but I guess it might have something to do with the pricetag.

Yo! MTV Raps

This year Yo! MTV Raps celebrates its 20 years anniversary. I did not get to see the anniversary shows, but you can check out loads of related stuff here.
As inspiration it is a winner. I remember drwaing the Yo! MTV Raps-logo over and over again when bored at school and so on.

GROUND ZERO

I have noticed this UK-brand, Ground Zero, several times lately. I like it because it has this streety feel, but looks sober and modern with colourful details and nice shapes. The brand is quite new and was established in 2003 by the brothers Eri and Philipa Chu. London is their muse.
The brand will for instance be sold at Bestshop-berlin and Seven New York.

THE FACE 4 EVER

This is my favourite The Face-cover of all times! I am not sure why but I just love the energy and the freshness of the girls. It is the august 1999 issue. I did not like The Face at the end, but the old ones are great. I am planning on reading old The Face this summer, so I need to get them up from the basement. I like!

LEATHER CAPS ON COACHELLA

Jeremy Scott is so out there, and do not mind posing on these pictures taken by Cory Kennedy. I actually had a similar leather caps when I was like 9-10 years old and very inspired by Madonna in Who´s that girl. The last couple of years I have been searching my childhood home for the leather caps, but it seems to have disappear. It was last seen on my littlebrother ten years ago.
I think Madonnas look from Who´s that girl may have inspired other than me lately. Leather jacket, feminine dresses and net stockings: it has been everywhere the last couple of seasons.

Acne

Pudel is a scandinavian brand based in London. I like it! And I especially like this denim vest, that I think will add a little extra to most outfits (at least the ones I tend to wear).
Acne has something similar in their spring collection: denim dress with classic jeans details. I like it too!

LATE FRIDAY FLICK

Since I have been so lazy (or busy might be the best word) I will post two videoes for you. I think this will be my summer soundtrack. Been listening to it for some time now, and I never get tired of it. I do not know how to label this music, all I can say is that this is from a time when the term "indie" actually ment something. CUSTOMIZING JEANS & LEGGINGS

A month ago, due to my obsession with the ripped up jeans from Maison Martin Margiela, I made these holes on a leggings of mine. The result turned out good, and it is a good way to transform an item you may be a bit bored with.
Last night I decided to make my version of the MMM-jeans, so I cutted up my old Cheap Monday jeans and I think it went very well.
I can not wait to use the jeans, and I think it will be great when it gets a bit warmer outside and a regular jeans is too warm.
Now I just need to stitch the shoulderpads that I bought on october on a black tee, and I will have a complete fake Maison Martin Margiela outfit. I like!

BOUNCE BOUNCE!

Forget the Topshop-dress. This is the best dress I have seen in a long time. It is from Acne, and the picture do not justify how nice it is irl. This can be worn in so many way: over a grey melange tee, with a short jacket of any kind, over net stockings, over jeans, with sneakers, or sandals or whatever. Everything goes!

MASION MARTIN MARGIELA STORE IN NEW YORK

I am slowly posting out my New York pics, and today I wanted to share the Maison Martin Margiela store with you. Some of my old readers may remember the extreme low fi entrance at the Maison Martin Margiela store in Tokyo?

It seems that low fi are one important part of the stores, also in New York. Due to jetlag we first arrived before the store (and everything else was opened), but later on we got to see the store that featured both the Maison- and MM6-collections. Actually there where two stores, one for boys and one for girls. And with the kindest and nicest staff in all of New York. Unfortunately they did not have the ripped up jeans that I wanted, so no MMM-shopping for me.

The store is located on 803 Greenwich Street in West Village.

HIGH STREET

Love this dress and leatherjacket from Topshop. It has been a long time since I have seen anything of interest in high street stores, but I would have bought both of these if I could.
I think they could work with almost anything. I like!

PRADA FALL 2004

Spring has arrived in Bergen, and they say it is gonna last some days. Love these looks from the fall 2004 Prada collection. The knit sweaters looks so good and comfy and I like the contrast between the materials.
This would be perfect to wear in Bergens weather nowadays, cause it is not all that hot in the shadow, but you can still leave your jacket at home.

BACK TO BACK

Back from New York, it feels like I have been away almost for ever. Is it only me or do you also feel that time goes slowly when away from your everyday life? I guess that is what a holiday should do, speed things down a bit.

Anyway, got sick on my way back so in addition to jetlag I also need to recover from food poisoning or something that I caught on the plane I think (airlinefood you know...).

Good news is I got my new laptop today and I have loads of pictures from New York, so as soon as I have installed photoshop and so on there will be some New York related posts here. 

 

NEW YORK CITY!!!!

I am leaving tomorrow for big city of dreams: New York City! Can´t wait. I am trying to pack now, and it is the ultimate what to bring/what to wear-issue.
Also for the first time in years I will not bring my (old) laptop when on holiday, it is going to be great to be completely free. But I will bring my new camera and take loads of pictures for you!
Today I am wearing Keds-shoes, Wood Wood-chinos, sweater from American Apparel and secondhand jacket.

SOME BASICS FOR NEW YORK

I will not go jeans hunting in New York (except for the ripped up ones from Maison Martin Margiela), and today I finally bought this jeans from Acne called Needle. It is slim and simple with a high waist. I have tried it on several times and today was the day. It is funny how you want something new when travelling, when you should just save all your money for the trip.
Ye ye. I also got these black monocrome Keds. I like!
