Yo! MTV Raps

This year Yo! MTV Raps celebrates its 20 years anniversary. I did not get to see the anniversary shows, but you can check out loads of related stuff here.
As inspiration it is a winner. I remember drwaing the Yo! MTV Raps-logo over and over again when bored at school and so on.

It´s a miracle

I was a huge Boy George and Culture Club fan when I was little, and my brother was even a bigger fan. When home last week we saw some live stuff from Culture Club and Boy George is so inspirational. His dressing is really unique and perhaps over the top, but that is what I love about it. And I love all the oversized sweaters, jackets and coats that along with his hats and wigs became his signature. I also think I might have stolen some dancemoves from him (did not realise that until now). I like!

MR. OIZO

Went to see Mr Oizo on saturday. He played hard and I liked that he did not play all the common club hits, but he played his "flatbeat" of course. He was drinking straight from the bottle and smoking illegal behind the decks. Crazy man.

MISS KITTIN

Miss Kittin played at the famous Copenhagen-club Vega. Great fun and very techno.

FEELING SO REAL

Feeling better, but being on internet sucks energy out of me so I must be quick. I was going to post this picture of The knife before I got sick, now it kind of says something about how I feel. I wish I could wear a mask nowadays so I would not have to be reminded of being sick every time I look in the mirror.
Nice picture though, love the haircut (and their music of course).

PATTI SMITH

I am totally in a New York zone nowadays. Flight tickets and hotel booked yesterday. I am ready!

Came across these pictures of Patti Smith when reading about New York´s music scene in the 70s where Patti contributed as a musician, poet and groupie. Her look is so effortless cool, and the coverphoto for her debutalbum "Horses" taken at Chelsea Hotel by her friend Robert Mapplethorpe is iconic. Great inspiration, notice the ripped up jeans.

It´s on! This is from last year when Kanye West entered the stage after losing the "best video award" to Justice. Btw, that is not Justice on the stage. And Snoop is wearing lederhosen tonight. Very hot, very Bernhard Willhelm.

ELECTROMA

Daft Punk sin film Electroma skal etter planen leggast ut for salg i september. Filmen handlar om to robotar som blir mennesker og all musikken er sjølvsagt óg laga av Daft Punk. Draktene er etter sigande designa av Hedi Slimane.
Om du var heldig såg du kanskje denne på BIFF her i Bergen i fjor.

Daft Punks movie Electroma is said to be released in september. The movie is about two robots becoming human and the music is off course also made by Daft Punk. The costumes are designed by Hedi Slimane.

MY SUMMER SOUNDTRACK # 5

The video for Let there be light is not out yet, but this unofficial one should do.
This is my summerhit 2007 number one! I love the energy, the power and the sound that is so fresh. They are playing at Øya in Oslo and I am so gonna be there.

The whole album Historie de Nelson is fantastic (and for instance Beck has sampled it on Sea Change, also a great album). Funnily he (and Jane Birkin) made videos to all the seven songs on the album, this is the video to my favourite song.

Cato Canari is a friend (and relative!) of mine. He released the album Out of tune a couple of years ago.
The album is a mix of synth and pop with a hint of italo and disco.

This must be one of the most underrated band ever. America is my favourite guitar/singer/songwriter band and I just love the sound. It is the sound of summer, beach, ocean and a great seventies California-feeling.
You should check out their Greatest Hits : I have listened to it a million times and I never get tired of it.

Words can not describe how amazing/brilliant/fantastic the consert was! Actually Buisy P (the man behind Ed Banger and manager to Daft Punk) stood right behind me for a while but I did not dare to ask for his picture. I regret that now (why am I so shy!).
