Madonna: Like a virgin.

It is not a total random choice of video, my blog will get a new start next week so I am almost feeling like a blogvirgin. This will be my (second) last post here on blogspot, then I will be part of something bigger and a new fashionhome. This new thing means I will write in norwegian only (I am actually looking forward to that) but I hope all my foreign readers will still check in if not just to look at pictures.

I will post a link when the site is up!

CAN YOU BLAME ME?

On saturday I bought a Nintendo Wii. It was a big impulse, I have never thought about that at all, but suddenly it felt very naturally to have one. So now I am trying not to play during day/office-time, but in the evenings I am hooked, trying to solve Super Paper Mario.
I love to play with you Mario!

BOY GEORGE/CULTURE CLUB

Do you really want to hurt me

The War Song

It´s a miracle

I was a huge Boy George and Culture Club fan when I was little, and my brother was even a bigger fan. When home last week we saw some live stuff from Culture Club and Boy George is so inspirational. His dressing is really unique and perhaps over the top, but that is what I love about it. And I love all the oversized sweaters, jackets and coats that along with his hats and wigs became his signature. I also think I might have stolen some dancemoves from him (did not realise that until now). I like!

THE SUPERMODELS

The aw 08/09 Carin Wester collection made me think about Chanel and the supermodels in the 90s. Browsing through pictures from google makes me remember when I as a teenager and sat at home, looking through fashion mags and thinking about who I liked the most of them. Back then, it was more about the models (which you never could get enough of) than the clothes and the fashion. My favourite was always Linda (no last names when it comes to supermodels), allthough I liked Helena also.
Funny thing, lots of the pictures are very nude-ish, but as I wrote, it was all about the models.

It is impossible making a post about supermodels without the George Michael videos "Freedom 90" from 1990 (I think) and "Too funky" from 1992.

FAVOURITE PIC

I love this picture from Bjork´s Debut. I want a sweater like that, it is so nice. It makes a great contrast to her fingertips (not just the nails) that are covered in silver, and of course I remember making those silver teardrops under my eyes after seeing this picture back in the days. A great look!

ROUND GLASSES PART 2

I predicted last year that round glasses would be a trend, but it was a bit early. Even though we saw oval glasses, it is first this year that round glasses will be big and we will see people actually wearing them.
Some inspiration here from John Lennon and also some glasses from Linda Farrow Vintage.

GRAND OLD LADY

Someone else who loves the new Vivienne Westwood-ads? I think she looks so good, and who is better to promote the brand other than herself? Of course it also helps when Juergen Teller is the mean behind the camera. I like!

STEPHEN SPROUSE

The man behind Louis Vuittons "graffiti bag" in 2001 died of lung canser in 2004. he worked with people like Keith Haring, styled Duran Duran, was given permission to use Andy Warhol images as textile design and he also designed clothes for Debbie Harry (Blondie) who never went on stage without Sprouse´s instructions. In 2006 Marc Jacobs used Sprouse's 1987 graffiti leopard images on bags, scarves and shoes which is iconic pieces today.

SATURDAY NIGHT INSPIRATION

This is my inspiration for tonights outfit. Madonna´s Confessions Tour look is amazing!

KEITH HARING AND JEREMY SCOTT

See how Jeremy Scott worked and got inspired when he did the Adicolor-collection last year. The collection is already legendary and I was lucky to get a tracksuit at Ebay this spring. I also love the shoes, maybe there are some left at Ebay?

BUFFALO SOLDIERS

Sirkelen er slutta. Eg henta opp mine 10 år gamle Buffalo-sko frå kjellaren i dag, og kven veit? Ein vakker haustkveld blir dei kanskje brukt (snart). Veldig inspirerande moteserie i septembernummer av Cover der dei kun brukar noken fine, svarte Buffalo-sko. Litt enklare enn mine, men så er jo mine gratis (no i andre runde).

It is the cirkle of fashion. I picked up my 10 year old Buffalo-shoes today and who knows? Maybe I will wear them a late autumn night? In this second round they are for free!

ISABELLA BLOW

Isabella Blow, known as a icon, one of the most important womans in fashion and muse to almost every designer, died earlier this summer, 48 years old.
She was fashion editor at Tatler Magazine and discovered talents like Alexander McQueen, Philip Treacy, Sophie Dahl and Stella Tennant to name a few.

Read the great interview with Blow at Hint Magazine.

LOVES IT!

Ein look for sommaren!

I am not sure when this picture was taken, but Miss Sevigny looks amazing (as always). Hvite Wayfarers, oversized jacket, a loose dress and toned legs. The best summerlook!

GOLD

Of course was Miss Bradshaw/Parker early on the metallic-trend. In the last season of SATC, Carrie wore lots of metallic and blanc material in addition to more experimental stuff for instance from Vivienne Westwood.
I did not understand much of it then, but the past years I have understood that Carrie (with help from Patricia Field of course) was very early with this look, as she has been with several other looks.
PS! Other than me that think that Carrie Bradshaw and SATC is somehow inspired by Holly Golightly and Breakfast at Tiffany`s?

BREAKFAST AT TIFFANYS

This must be the most cliche thing to blogg about but: You must see Breakfast at Tiffanys!
It is a fantastic movie based on the novel by Truman Capote, directed by Blake Edwards, amazing clothes by Givenchy, lovely music by Henry Mancini and Johnny Mercer, filmed in New York and of course übericon Audrey Hepburn in the leading role.

MADONNA MOMENTS

Anyone else that think that Madonna should be inspired be herself for her H&M-collection? She is the king after all!
